Membership Application to Senya Youth Parliament


SENYA YOUTH PARLIAMENT

Proposed rules and regulations for regulating and managing the activities, actions and inactions of Parliamentarians of this August House.

A || MEMBERSHIP RULES ON WHATSAPP ||

1. An official member of SYP  must be abreast with the mission, vision and composition statements as well as all other relevant guidelines necessary to Parliament.

2. A member shall not at anytime, anywhere, anyhow release or reveal any sacred information to any entity outside the jurisdiction of Parliament without due protocols.

3. Prior to rule 'A2', A member of SYP is therefore, mandated to remain very confidential on issues and information available to the House.

4. Members must at all time be circumspect in delivering comments and submissions during sittings and among our sister platforms, ie, SB Youth Constituency, Oma Senya Politics, Senya Pramaso, ASTES etc. 

5. A member is obliged to contribute to issues being discussed during sittings, members who become inactive for a certain period of time shall be subjected to the Disciplinary Committee for further actions to be taken.

6. Any member affiliated or interested in any political party, personality or a group of persons whose activity or activities may compromise the dignity, integrity and independence of Parliament  shall face the full  strenuous of the laws of SYP.


B || REGULATIONS ON POSTINGS ||

1. Do not under any circumstance(s) post anything which contains profanity.

2. Do not post or forward any piece of information; adverts, religious piece, bets, audios, songs, pictures that are irrelevant to the house.

3. Do not post naughty emojis during online sittings and discussions.

4. Do not post anything which may contain ethnocentric sentiments, personality attacks and undermine cultural values and development.


C || FILING OF NEW APPLICATION ||

1. A prospective member shall file his/her application by completing the applicants' form via our online portal,
which shall be made available to all our sister platforms. Click Application Form

2. An applicant is required to provide valid  and vital particulars to make up his/her profile; name, sex, occupation, current residential address and contact details, your picture is without exception.

3. An applicant then becomes a member of SYP after meeting all the requisite requirements.

4. A new member shall make a solemn pledge to SYP in his/her commitment to Parliament and the good People of Senya Beraku.

BRIEF HISTORY OF SENYA BIREKU Senya-Bireku is a coastal town in the Central Region of the Republic of Ghana, in the Awutu Senya District, or politically, Awutu Senya Constituency. SENYA BERAKU SE-YE ADA (Clan Names) || Akrama Ano Clan in Focus

In Senya Beraku there are two basic forms of family relations and they are 'Se-ye' and 'Ni-ye'.  Literally Se-ye means father's house while Ni-ye means mother's house. When a Senya refers to his Ni-ye he is actually referring to his family, which is maternal. When he refers to his Se-ye he is referring to his clan, which is paternal. Children in Senya are named from their paternal clans by the senior member of the clan or his/her grandfather. Thus the child's father receives the name from his father or his father's brother if his father is late. This is important because in Senya tradition everybody from your father's clan is your father. Each Se-ye in Senya Beraku has peculiar male and female names that can be traced directly to the deity of the clan. And it enables easy identification of a person's background and father's clan. SENYA AKUMASE FESTIVAL – BRIEF HISTORY

Senya Beraku Traditional Area is in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region. The people of this land are Guans and they speak the Senya dialect. Fishing is the dominant occupation of the people but farming, building construction, dress making, hairdressing, trading, driving, mechanics and teaching provide other means of livelihood. The Senya Beraku Akumase festival is traditional farming processes that culminate into the August celebration of bumper harvest in August each year. It is a festival that recounts the greatest historical famine that ever struck the community and how our ancestors were able to use systematic agricultural process to combat the affliction, eventually ending it with bumper harvest. The festival is celebrated in the third week of August each year. The celebration is spearheaded by the Nkyiew Anu patrilineal family, who are the custodians of the festival.
